Confirm a person's setup
Each person is set up once: their award, level, employment type, age, apprentice status and enterprise agreement. Every pay of theirs is then checked against that setup, with no confirmation step each time. Open it from "Confirm" on the "Confirm your people" list, from a person's record, or from "Review" on the needs-attention list.
Confirm your people
The list at Payslip compliance › Confirm your people shows everyone not yet confirmed, and anyone saved as provisional. People imported from payroll land here too. A person without an employer needs one assigned first.
How sure we are
Every line shows a label:
- High: a person decided it, or payroll supplied it ("From payroll").
- Check this: worked out from answers, worth a look.
- Our guess: assumed or guessed from the payslip. These lines are shaded and never pre-confirmed.
Each line has a "Confirm" button. "Save & use this" only works once every line is confirmed.
The work
- What they do. The role we're working from. If it's wrong, everything below is too. "Adjust" goes back through the questions about the work.
- Award. The modern award, with its code and a link to the award itself so you can check. "Change" goes back through the questions.
- Level. The level, with the grade below and above it and the minimum hourly rate of each, worked out for their age and employment type at today's rates. Pick a neighbour if it matches their work better; the rate moves with it.
The award and level set the minimum every pay is checked against. When you save, FairCheck adds a dated record of the classification and the rate it gives to the person's file. You can download each record as a PDF from their page. It is a record of what was confirmed, not legal advice.
Who they are
- Employment. Full time, part time or casual. Casual changes the minimum (casual loading) and which penalties apply.
- Age. Enter their date of birth. Junior rates step up with each birthday until 21; with a date of birth each pay is checked at the age they were then, and you're reminded before a step-up. If you don't know the date, tick "they're 21 or older". The date of birth is stored encrypted and is never sent to an AI model.
- Apprentice / trainee. Always asked, because a payslip rarely says and it changes the minimum.
The floor & extras
- Enterprise agreement. Pick the agreement that covers them, or "No agreement". An agreement sets the floor but never below the award. Give the agreement a nominal expiry date on its own page so you're reminded to check it's still in operation.
- Regular allowances. Allowances that apply every pay. "Edit allowances" opens their profile.
Saving
"These details apply from" sets the date the setup takes effect. The first time someone is confirmed, leave it blank to cover every pay on file. After that, a change re-checks pays from that date; earlier pays keep the setup they were checked against. "Save & use this" confirms everything. "Save as provisional" keeps any unconfirmed line as an assumption: their results say they rest on an assumption, and they stay on the needs-attention list until someone confirms them.
