Your profile
Your profile holds the details that belong to you rather than to any account: your name, email address, avatar, password, two-factor authentication and how FairCheck looks for you. It is reached from Profile and Password under Your account in the settings navigation. Organisation-level settings live under Account settings.
Edit Profile
The Edit Profile page — "Your name, email address and how FairCheck looks for you." — has these fields:
- Avatar — an image in PNG, JPEG, HEIC, HEIF or WebP. You can drop a file onto the field.
- Name — required.
- Email — required. If you change it and email confirmation is on, the page shows "Currently waiting confirmation for:
" until you confirm from the email sent to it. - Theme — Sync with system, Light or Dark.
Click Update to save. You do not need to enter your password to change these.
Delete my account
The Delete my account card on the same page removes your login: "This will permanently erase all data associated with your account. This action cannot be undone." To confirm, type your email address into the dialog.
This deletes your user, not the team accounts you belong to. An account you own, together with its payslips and members, is deleted separately from Account settings.
Update Password
The Update Password page asks for:
- Current password — "We need your current password to confirm your changes"
- Password — the minimum length is shown beneath the field
- Password confirmation
Click Update. You stay signed in, and the page confirms "Your password was changed successfully."
Two-factor Authentication
The Two-factor Authentication card sits below the password form: "When you login, you will be required to enter a one-time code along to one of your devices."
Enabling it
Click Enable two-factor authentication. Setup runs in two screens:
- Backup Codes — "Recovery codes are used to access your account in the event you cannot receive two-factor authentication codes." A set of codes is shown with the warning "Download, print, or copy your recovery codes before continuing." Keep them somewhere safe, such as a password manager, then click Next.
- Scan this code with your app. — install an authenticator app (the page links to Authy for iOS and Android), choose "Add account", then "Scan QR Code" and scan the code shown. If scanning is a problem, the page shows a key to enter into the app by hand.
Under Enter the six-digit code from the application, type the code your app now displays and click Verify. On success you return to the password page with "Two-factor authentication was enabled successfully". A wrong code shows "Incorrect verification code" and lets you try again.
Signing in with it
Once enabled, every sign-in asks for a one-time code from your app after your password. A backup code can be used instead if you can't reach the app. Other members of your accounts can see that you have it on — a 2FA chip appears beside your name in the members table (see Team members).
Disabling it
Back on the password page the card now offers Disable two-factor authentication. Confirm "Are you sure?" and the page reports "Two-factor authentication is now disabled".
Connected Accounts
Connected Accounts — "Connecting your social media accounts makes logging in easier." — appears in the navigation only when a sign-in provider has been configured for this FairCheck installation. When it is shown, the page offers a Sign in with
