Reports
An audit of one person's pay over a date range: what the checks found overall, what stands out, and a spreadsheet of every payslip and every finding. Reports are generated in the background and kept, so you can download them again later or regenerate one after correcting something.
New report
Pick an "Employee" and a "From" and "To" date, then "Generate report". "Quick ranges" fill the dates for "This month", "Last month", "This quarter" or "This financial year". Starting from a person's page pre-selects them.
Every payslip whose pay period overlaps the range is included, in full. This is a different basis from the Payslip compliance list, which filters on pay date, so the two sets can differ at the edges. A payslip straddling the start or end date is counted whole, so two adjoining reports deliberately do not add up to the year. Archived payslips are excluded and counted separately.
Rules on the range:
- Both dates are required, and the end date can't be before the start date.
- The range can't be longer than 3 years.
There is one report per person and range. Asking again for the same range lands on the existing report ("There's already a report for that range. Regenerate it to pick up any changes.") rather than creating a second.
Report status
Each report card shows a status badge:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Queued | Waiting for the background worker. |
| Generating | Being built. The card updates on its own when it's ready. |
| Ready | Finished; downloads are available. |
| Failed | Generation failed. The card shows "Try again". |
If a report has sat on Queued or Generating for more than 5 minutes, the card says "This hasn't finished. The background worker may not be running" and offers "Try again".
A Ready card shows the payslip count and the tally of verdicts — "no issues", "worth checking", "can't verify yet", "possible issues" — and, where there is one, the "possible gap" total. It offers "Download PDF" (the summary and what stands out, to read), "Download CSV" (every payslip and every finding, to audit), "Regenerate" and "Open". The generated time and the number of regenerations sit underneath.
Regenerating rebuilds the same report in place: the files are replaced and the link stays the same. On the report page, if payslips in the range changed after the report was generated, a note says "N payslips in this range changed after this report was generated. Regenerate it to pick up the new figures."
"Delete this report" erases the stored PDF and CSV. The payslips and their check results are untouched.
Pay by pay
For working out what may be owed across weeks, months or years. Under the verdict tiles, a summary gives the estimated total ("~$5,140 may be owed") across every pay in the range, then a table lists each pay in order: the pay period, what was paid (gross), what it should have been at least (paid plus the gap), the gap, and the running total. Pays are grouped by financial year (1 July to 30 June), each with its own gap subtotal. Click a pay period to open that payslip. The downloaded PDF carries the same table.
The figures are prompts to check, not proof: they come from each payslip's own check, and a pay we couldn't check counts as no gap.
Reading a report
The report page shows the card, then the verdict tiles, then these sections.
What stands out
Ranked exceptions, each with a title and detail. They can include:
- the total possible gap across the flagged payslips, with the largest single gap named
- a check flagged on two or more payslips ("A check failing this often usually points at a setting rather than a one-off")
- payslips that couldn't be checked — their pay was never compared to a minimum, so they are neither passed nor flagged in the totals
- the base rate paid changing during the period, with the rates seen
Recurring findings
A table of every check that was flagged, with the number of payslips affected and the possible gap, worst money first.
Worth opening first
Up to ten payslips, worst money first, each linked to its result page with the headline finding and the shortfall.
What this covers
Restates the range and the overlap rule, then counts payslips and pay runs. It also names anything left out:
- payslips that couldn't be checked against a wage floor
- archived payslips excluded from the range
- payslips carrying no pay-period dates
- payslips on file that carry no dates at all, so they can't be placed in any period and aren't included in this or any other report — with a "See their payslips" link
If no payslips fall in the range it says so: that's not a finding about their pay; nothing was checked.
